Connecting Steps is designed to be as easy to use as possible for teachers. Each screen is displayed in the same way it will be printed, all the information being clearly displayed. To enter/update/view information you click on it. Keeping it simple ensures that teachers can use the software and the software feedsback as much information about what they have entered as possible.

The software is designed to rerport information back to parents and teachers. Our GAP software takes this further and allows senior management to run reports on the assessment data, looking at different cohorts, looking at achievements on different dates and filtering the data further. They can build reports to report information back to Governers, Ofsted, the LEA or other interested parties. The graphs and reports can be integrated into Powerpoint presentations or into Word documents.

Connecting Steps does things differently to other assessment systems. Instead of teachers giving a level at the end of each year, Connecting Steps is designed to be used throughout the year. Teachers record the small steps the pupils make and use these steps to build a bigger picture of the pupils learning and achievements.

The teachers and senior management can look at all the different steps involved in achieving a level and can look at the next steps or areas of focus for the pupil. By looking at the next steps for the pupil, an individual learning plan can easily be created, followed and tracked.
