To update Connecting Steps to the latest version, there are a number of steps;

• Update Database - Updates to the latest database version to support new features.
• Update Assessments - Update to the lastest assessment files to be able to add in or update subjects/curriculums (optional).
• Update Licence - Update your license to increase the number of users, add subjects/curriculums or unlock GAP (optional).
• Connecting Steps System- Download and update to the latest version of the software for use on the machine running the database.
• Client Software - Update the software to the latest version of the software to add in new features and to fix any bugs (optional).

You can upgrade Connecting Steps by downloading the Connecting Steps CD or by downloading individual components. If you are upgrading a single computer or a server, you may find it quicker and simpler to download the individual components. If you are upgrading multiple computers it may be easier to download the ISO and burn to a CD.

Connecting Steps ISO (requires license)

If you are upgrading your license is already loaded into the software, you only need the license if you are installing the software on a new machine. If you are unsure what an ISO is, please download our document on how to use an ISO by clicking here.

Once downloaded the ISO can be mounted to a virtual drive or burnt to a CD and used to install the entire Connecting Steps System, including the database. If you do not have a licence, you will be unable to use the software. First time users will need to use the Load Licence feature on the Menu.
