CPD for SEND You Can Access Anywhere!

CPD for SEND You Can Access Anywhere!

CPD that you can access online has never been more relevant in the current national crisis due to COVID-19. The Virtual SEND Conference was a HUGE success, with hundreds of teachers and SENCOs logging on to watch SEND experts in their fields deliver presentations on topics such as dyslexia, autism, ODD and more. If you missed it, you can still buy a ticket and watch the recordings from the website!

The conference takes place live online on Friday 27 March, but remember you don’t have to attend on the day. You can watch the recordings afterwards and you're free to share with colleagues across your school as just one ticket (only £60) gives whole school access!

The Engagement Model – An announcement or something else?

On Monday 27th of January 2020, the DfE released draft guidance called the Engagement Model.

Strangely, it didn’t appear in the Governments announcements or the DFE Email Digest, and it doesn’t appear in the list of News and Communications from the DfE.

Why? Is it because SEND is still an after thought or is there another reason?

The conference was designed to benefit the whole education sector, including mainstream teachers, SEND school staff and anyone else seeking high-quality CPD courses in SEND-related topics. Those who are familiar with B Squared understand that we don’t just follow everyone else; we look at a problem and work out the best solution.

Cyber Essentials Certification

We have now completed our Cyber Essentials Certification for the year. Whilst this is broad in its approach, it helps to ensure that even the smallest of companies are thinking about online security and helping to keep themselves secure. As a company or school, going through the Cyber Essentials certifications helps draw you attention to the flaws in your internal processes and security. Raising these early helps prevent your system from being...

'An Introduction to Profiling Autism with Autism Progress' - Webinar

Dale Pickles 0 2610

This week’s webinar was an overview and history behind Autism Progress and the aims of the project, with our first guest presenter Jasmine Miller. Jasmine was involved with Autism Progress from the very beginning, over 5 years ago. She was involved with every stage of the project, including getting B Squared involved. Autism Progress started off as a project between 3 autism charities – Scottish Autism, Autism Wessex and the North East Autism Society. The charities wanted a way to...

Where are we with the ‘Aspects of Engagement’?

Dale Pickles 0 3587

On the 22nd November 2018 the School Standards Minister, Nick Gibb announced ‘Pioneering new approach to assessing pupils with complex disabilities to be introduced in schools’. What is this new approach you ask? That would be the approach recommended by the Rochford Review 25 months ago. The reason for the announcement? The Government has published ‘Piloting the 7...
